Call for papers: The 5th Annual Meeting of the Scandinavian Society for Economic andSocial History

Sessions and papers
All sessions will be in English. We encourage participants to submit suggestions for full sessions or even tracks. Sessions can be ninety minutes long (usually three papers). Tracks may combine up to three sessions to allow for a broader discussion. Individual papers will be organised in thematic sessions by the organising committee. Please note that although contributions on Nordic and Baltic economic, social, and business history are particularly encouraged, all topics are welcome.

Session/Track proposals should include:

  • the title of the session/track
  • contact details for the organiser.
  • a brief description (200 words) of the session/track’s theme, focus and objectives.
  • contact details and 200 word abstract of all participants and their papers.
  • an indication of whether any of the papers wish to be considered for the Scandinavian Economic History Review fast track (see below).


Paper proposals should include:

  • the title of the paper
  • contact details for the author/speaker.
  • a 200 word paper abstract.
  • aan indication of whether you wish to be considered for the Scandinavian Economic History fast track.
  • Paper/session proposals should be uploaded on the conference website (see link above) no later than no later than 15 . June 2024. Notification of acceptance will be given by 30. June 2024, with a provisional program announced at the end of September.

    The conference fee will be 1200 NOK (600 NOK for graduate students). Lunches and refreshments will be provided, and there will be a conference dinner, all included in the price.
